Alarms

As nervous as I am these days, last night was nearly my undoing, Diary.

My aunts’ panic alarm(part of the new system they had installed) went off! They were very brave about it, and used their clicker to turn it off, but didn’t know what made it go off. Well, the alarm company tried to call them, and when they got a busy signal, they called the cops, then me. I don’t know which one of us drove faster! We all got there about the same time, and when they lit up the front of the house with those freaking halogen flashlights they carry, my aunt Tillie opened the door.

She looked so shocked! Her eyebrows disappeared into her hair line. “It was Nancy!” she explained. “She sat on the clicker and set it off!” Aunt Nan appeared at the door, a little frumpy looking in her pjs.

No harm done. Other than my hair has a few new gray strands.
*I am off to research the lightbulbs in cop flashlights. They would work great in deer season*

  2. Nice idea to have the diary. Cute anecdote in this posting. Helps us get to know the character.

I love that! What a great story.

On another note, Shannon, I have no idea who you are, but the comments lead me to believe you are a character. 😀 Can’t wait to read more.
